#10 Kiyan Khoshoie (Geneva)

Wannabe

Portrait No. 10 is dedicated to the Geneva-based dancer and choreographer Kiyan Khosohie and accompanies him as he works on his latest autobiographically inspired solo Wannabe. In this piece, Kiyan takes himself back to his childhood, when he - fascinated by boy bands and pop music - rehearsed choreographies, gestures and postures from music videos in his childhood bedroom. In the film, we see how he takes singing and choreography lessons to learn the pop songs and pop choreographies from his childhood. Further we can observe how the choreographic material is created and dramaturgically composed in close collaboration with Charlotte Dumartheray. Kiyan Khoshoie takes the audience on a journey back to his childhood and the pop history of 90s music.
